Experienced Mental Health Support Worker

We’re currently seeking compassionate, experienced, and resilient Mental Health Support Workers to join our growing team. This role includes general mental health support as well as tailored support for participants with complex needs, including those who display Behaviours of Concern (BOCs) and have an established Behaviour Support Plan (BSP).

 

About the Role

You’ll walk alongside participants to support their independence, wellbeing, and community connection. This includes:

  • Providing trauma-informed, participant-led support

  • Assisting with daily living, routines, and community access

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive coping strategies

  • Implementing behaviour strategies in line with BSPs

  • Responding calmly and professionally to BOCs

  • Collaborating with care teams and external services

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and case notes

  • Engaging in reflective practice and ongoing development

 

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Disability, or Community Services (or working towards)

  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with BOCs and implementing BSPs

  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice

  • Excellent communication, emotional resilience, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently while following structured support plans

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Working With Children Check

  • First Aid/CPR

  • NDIS Orientation Module

  • Own registered vehicle with full comprehensive insurance and a current Australian driver’s licence

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working within the NDIS psychosocial/Mental health disability space

  • Familiarity with Shift Care or similar participant management systems

  • Understanding of rostering procedures and continuity of support
